(ISC)2 Aberdeen Chapter – Annual Meeting – 2021

On Monday December 13th, 2021, at 6 PM  (EST) for 1 hour and 30 minutes online via Zoom (see below) the Aberdeen Chapter of the (ISC)2 will conduct our required Annual Meeting for 2021.

We will cover chapter business that is for all current and new members as well as those interested in joining our chapter.  We will be discussing the future of the chapter and the need for our chapter to be active so that we can continue to be viable.

We will also cover the new updates to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) put out during the November 9th, 2021  Accreditation Body Town Hall, the community learned that there are quite a few MAJOR CHANGES with the new CMMC 2.0 that replaced CMMC 1.0.   This program will impact many of us in cybersecurity as it will become a contract requirement after the rulemaking process is complete (typically a 9-24 month process).

We will also cover free resources for obtaining CPE, current trends in cybersecurity with free and open resources that are available to stay current, and we will discuss the future of our chapter.

We will also call for members to step up and self nominate for taking over the officer positions that are available:

President
Secretary
Treasurer
Membership Chair

We really need people to step up and attend this meeting.  We also need for those that attend this annual meeting to self nominate or nominate another qualified person as long as that person has expressed their desire to be a chapter officer and has given the nominating person their permission to nominate them.

Since this session will include professional development topics such as CMMC, we will submit one CPE for those that attend.

PLEASE come out and support our Annual Meeting.  It is critical for our continued viability as a chapter of the (ISC)2.

This is the Zoom information you need and I, Frank Mayer, CISSP, Aberdeen (ISC)2 Membership Chair, am inviting you to this scheduled Zoom meeting.
